MUNTEAM Laboratory

Munzur University Rare Earth Elements Application and Research Centre (MUNTEAM) with over fifty qualified personnel, supports the establishment of a reliable and uninterrupted rare earth elements supply chain on a national scale. It is aimed to develop Türkiye's R&D ecosystem related to REEs in this Centre, which has an area of approximately 6000 m2, where academic knowledge and experience are transformed into high value-added products containing REE with SMEs and industry stakeholders.

Within MUNTEAM, there are Mineral Processing Laboratories where ore samples taken from the field are prepared and made suitable for the next step of chemical processes, Chemical Process Laboratories where geological characterizations are carried out and REEs are purified using environmentally friendly electrochemical and green chemistry methods, and Material Production and Characterization Laboratory where material characterization studies are carried out in the development of high value-added products containing REEs.
